Oil and Filter Changes

OIL CHANGES KEEP ENGINES HEALTHY

Regularly scheduled oil changes are one of the most important services there are in regards to keeping your engine running smoothly. Performing your oil changes at the proper intervals will keep your engines’ internal components properly lubricated resulting in longer lasting and healthier motors. We carry a full line of conventional, synthetic blend, full-synthetic, and diesel oils all at affordable prices to suit the needs of almost any make and model of vehicle.

OIL CHANGE OPTIONS TO SUIT YOUR VEHICLES’ NEEDS

Regular Basic Oil- A Regular oil change is recommended at every 3 months or 3,000 miles (whichever comes first) Using conventional oil at proper intervals is a great, cost effective way to keep the important internal parts of your motor sufficiently lubricated for daily driving scenarios.

Full Synthetic- A Full Synthetic oil change service uses a higher grade oil than conventional. There are several advantages to using a full synthetic oil in lieu of conventional oil. Some of these advantages are improved fuel economy, extended motor life, higher horsepower and torque ratings, and extended intervals if necessary. A full synthetic oil will also reduce carbon deposits and is the best option for those looking to go above and beyond just the basic regular oil maintenance.

THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULARLY SCHEDLUED OIL CHANGE SERVICES

With regularly scheduled oil changes, your vital internal engine components stay well-coated, lubricated, and protected against excess heat and friction. When you skip an oil change service, the oil begins to thicken, break down, and lose its viscous properties that help protect your motor which can result in symptoms such as lower fuel economy, loss of power, sluggish acceleration, and eventually in premature wear and tear of the internal engine components. When you don’t follow the manufacturers’ specified oil change intervals you can run the risk of needing costly engine repairs or even an engine replacement. ALWAYS follow manufacturers recommendations for service intervals.

ENGINE OIL LEAKS

At the first sign of a possible oil leak coming from your vehicle, make sure you have your vehicle dropped off at Aquia Auto Repair as soon as possible. When our technicians perform an oil change service on your vehicle, they will check your engine for any leaks while the vehicle is up on the lift. There are many reasons that a vehicle begins leaking engine oil which can include but are not limited to:

  • Oil drain plug not sealing properly
  • Damaged or worn out gaskets, hoses, seals, or o-rings.
  • Corroded oil cooler lines.
  • An improperly installed oil filter.
  • Missing gaskets or seals.

Identifying the source of the oil leak is the first step to making sure your motor is properly sealed and not losing any fluid. The sooner an engine oil leak is diagnosed and repaired, the better off you and your vehicle will be. Oil leaks that are not attended to in a timely manner can cause severe and sometimes catastrophic failures of the engine and its internal components.
