BRAKE SERVICE AND INSPECTION

One of the most important areas of any vehicle is the braking system. Having your brakes checked regularly helps keep you, your vehicle, and others around you on the road safer. Many components are visually inspected when performing a brake check such as the brake pads and rotors to see how they are wearing, the brake calipers to check for possible seizing of the calipers, and of course brake hoses and lines. If you’re in need of a brake inspection and/or service, look no further than Aquia Auto Repair where we offer our customers a COMPLIMENTARY brake check, 5 days a week, all year long. Bring your vehicle in and our auto service professionals will perform a FREE brake check service that includes:

  • Measurement of front and rear brake pad wear
  • Measurement of brake rotor wear
  • Measurement of brake drum wear
  • Strip dip brake fluid test
  • Basic E-Brake inspection

During your FREE brake check, we will determine if your vehicle needs any further brake service, such as:

  • Installation of new brake pads or shoes
  • Resurfacing or replacement of brake rotors or drums
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Brake system bleeding
  • Replacement of brake lines, hoses, and other brake components

BRAKE FLUID CHANGE

Over time, brake fluid can become contaminated as moisture builds up in the system. Most brake components contain copper and when copper is exposed to moisture, it begins to erode. As brake components deteriorate and erode, particles can begin to contaminate the brake fluid-which indicates it is time for a brake fluid exchange. During your complimentary brake check, our auto service professionals will visually inspect and perform a strip dip brake fluid test to determine if the fluid is contaminated and needs flushed.

BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING

The need for bleeding your braking system arises when air makes its way into your brake fluid system. The introduction of air into the system can be caused by a leak, malfunction of the master cylinder, or simply from having work performed on your braking system recently. If air has made it into your braking system, it can cause your brake pedal to have a soft, spongy feeling when depressed. If you are experiencing these symptoms, a brake system bleed may be the solution to your problem.

BRAKE ROTOR REPLACEMENT

A sure sign that it’s time to replace your brake rotors is if your vehicle is exhibiting a vibration or pulsation while braking at highway speeds. These symptoms can indicate that your brake rotors are possible warped or worn. Over time, the pressure of the brake calipers squeezing the brake pads against the rotors can lead to heat spots and grooves which can affect the performance of the rotors. Another possible cause of damaged rotors can be the result of very worn brake pads. When this happens, the metal compounds of the pads scrapes against the metal of the rotors causing excessive noise, vibration, and pulsations while braking.

COMMON BRAKE SYMPTOMS

Grinding, squeaking, or squealing brakes can indicate a problem with your vehicles’ braking system.
